Definitions

  • Pipelex Cloud (the "Service"): the hosted platform operated by Pipelex: the web console at app.pipelex.com, the API at api.pipelex.com and the Pipelex MCP at mcp.pipelex.com, with the infrastructure behind them.
  • Pipelex Software: the software Pipelex publishes for you to run yourself, such as the Pipelex runtime, its command-line tools, SDKs and plugins, whether open source, source available or closed source, including the public repositories at https://github.com/Pipelex.
  • Organization: a workspace in Pipelex Cloud that holds methods, runs, files, API Keys and Usage Credits. Every user has a personal Organization and may join others.
  • Customer Content: what you bring to and produce in the Service: your methods and their code, the prompts, inputs and files you provide, the outputs your runs produce, and the history of each run.
  • AI Output: content generated by AI models through the Service.
  • Model Provider: a third party that serves AI models the Service calls, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Bedrock or Google, as listed in our Privacy Policy.
  • Usage Credits: the credits in an Organization's account that pay for its use of the Service, such as running and building methods, whether bought or granted by Pipelex.
  • API Key: a secret Pipelex API key that lets software act on your behalf in an Organization.

1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Evotis S.A.S. ("Pipelex," "we" or "us"), a company registered in France, having its registered office at 10 Rue Mabillon, 75006 Paris.

These Terms govern your access to and use of Pipelex Cloud. By creating an account or using Pipelex Cloud, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you use Pipelex Cloud on behalf of a company or another organization, you accept these Terms on its behalf and confirm that you have the authority to do so.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Pipelex Cloud.

Pipelex Software that you run yourself is governed by its license, such as the Elastic License 2.0 or the MIT License, and not by these Terms. When Pipelex Software connects to Pipelex Cloud, for example to run a method with an API Key, these Terms apply to that use of the Service.

If you have signed a separate agreement with Pipelex, such as for Pipelex On-Prem, that agreement prevails where it differs from these Terms.

2. Service Description

Pipelex Cloud lets you build, store and run AI methods without managing servers. It consists of:

  • The Web Console: a web interface for building and running methods, managing Organizations, members and API Keys, and buying Usage Credits.
  • The API and the Pipelex MCP: interfaces for running your methods from your own software, from automation tools, and from chatbots such as ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Managed Execution: your runs execute on infrastructure operated by Pipelex and hosted by cloud providers, with the help of the third-party services described in our Privacy Policy.
  • The Inference Gateway: the AI model calls of your runs go through our inference gateway, which sends each call to the Model Provider Pipelex has chosen for that model. Pipelex Cloud does not accept your own provider keys; to use your own keys, run Pipelex Software yourself.

Pipelex Cloud runs Pipelex Software, such as the Pipelex runtime and its API server, which are source available under the Elastic License 2.0, along with open-source libraries. Their code is governed by their licenses, not by these Terms, and you may run it yourself under those licenses. The other components of Pipelex Cloud, such as the web console, the Pipelex MCP and the inference gateway, are closed source: you may use them only as part of the Service, and these Terms grant you no license to their code.

We may change, add or remove features of the Service. We will tell you in advance of any change that materially reduces a paid feature.

3. Accounts, Organizations and API Keys

  • Registration: To use Pipelex Cloud, you must register through our authentication provider, with a valid email address or a supported third-party account (such as Google or GitHub). The information you give must be accurate.
  • Organizations: Customer Content and Usage Credits belong to the Organization they were created or added in. Organization admins invite and remove members, manage API Keys, and can delete the Organization's runs and methods. If you leave an Organization or are removed from it, you lose access to its content.
  • Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and API Keys. We store only a fingerprint of each API Key and cannot recover a lost one, so revoke any key you believe is compromised. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account and your API Keys.
  • Suspension: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, abuse the platform, fail to pay what you owe, or attempt to bypass our security, metering or rate limits.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Prohibited Uses

You must not use Pipelex Cloud to:

  • Break the law, infringe the rights of others, or generate content that a Model Provider's usage policies prohibit;
  • Bypass, disable or interfere with the Service's security, the isolation of its code execution, its metering or its rate limits;
  • Access data or accounts that are not yours, or probe or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
  • Send spam, attack other systems, or mine cryptocurrency;
  • Resell or sublicense access to Pipelex Cloud itself, or share API Keys outside your Organization; building products and services for your own clients with your methods is allowed;
  • Reverse engineer the closed-source components of the Service, except where the law allows it.

4.2 Metering

To bill usage, secure the Service and prevent abuse, Pipelex records the billable use of the Service, such as each pipe, or step of a method, that a run executes and each AI model call, with what each one consumed, such as a model's token counts, and the run, user, Organization and API Key it belongs to. This metering is part of the Service and cannot be turned off. The DO_NOT_TRACK setting controls the usage statistics and telemetry of Pipelex Software on your own machines; it has no effect on Pipelex Cloud.

5. Customer Content and Data License

5.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of your Customer Content, including the AI Output generated for you, to the extent the law allows. Pipelex claims no ownership of it.

5.2 License to Pipelex

By using Pipelex Cloud, you grant Pipelex a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, and process your Customer Content solely for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and support the Service (e.g., sending model calls to Model Providers and running code steps in isolated sandboxes).
  • To debug technical issues and prevent abuse.
  • To comply with the law.

Pipelex does not use your Customer Content to train AI models.

5.3 Your Responsibilities

You confirm that you have the rights to the Customer Content you submit. If it contains personal data about other people, you are responsible for having a legal basis to process it and for informing those people. When Pipelex processes such personal data on your behalf, it acts as your processor, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5.4 Sub-processors

You authorize Pipelex to engage other companies as sub-processors to provide the Service, such as the Model Providers and the infrastructure providers our Privacy Policy describes. The current list of sub-processors is available on request at privacy@pipelex.com. We will tell the admins of your Organization by email at least 14 days before we add or replace a sub-processor, and you may object to the change within that period by writing to the same address. If we cannot address your objection, you may close your account as described in section 9.

5.5 Retention and Deletion

We keep Customer Content as long as we need it to provide the Service, and we may set time limits on how long run outputs and run histories are kept. You or your Organization can delete Customer Content at any time, and deleting a run or a method erases its data. When your account is deleted, we delete your account data within 30 days, as our Privacy Policy describes.

6. AI Services and "High Risk" Use

6.1 Probabilistic Nature & Hallucinations

You acknowledge that the Service uses AI models that generate output on a probabilistic basis. AI Output may contain errors, inaccuracies, or "hallucinations" and should not be relied upon without independent human review.

6.2 No Critical Dependence

You agree not to rely on the Service for critical, high-risk, or sensitive functions (including medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical purposes) without appropriate human oversight.

6.3 Model Providers

Pipelex Cloud sends your AI model calls to the Model Providers that Pipelex chooses for each model (see the current list). You agree to comply with their respective usage policies. We are not responsible for content filters, refusals, or other decisions made by these providers.

7. Fees, Payments, and Refunds

7.1 Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. All payments for Pipelex Cloud are processed by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

7.2 Usage Credits

An Organization's use of the Service, such as running and building methods, is paid for with its Usage Credits, at the rates Pipelex sets. A run may bring the balance below zero; we may refuse to start new runs until the balance is positive again, and a negative balance is deducted from the next Usage Credits added.

7.3 Welcome and Promotional Credits

Pipelex may grant Usage Credits for free, such as welcome credits, promotional credits or credits for beta testers. Granted credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or refunded, and may be changed or terminated at any time without notice.

7.4 Expiration

Usage Credits you buy are valid for one (1) year from the last time your Organization used Usage Credits. Unused Usage Credits expire immediately after this period and are non-refundable.

7.5 Paid Plans

Paid plans, when offered, are described at the point of purchase and renew automatically until you cancel them. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7.6 Price Changes

We may change our rates and the prices of paid plans. New rates apply to usage after the change, and we notify subscribers of a price change at least 30 days before it applies to their plan.

7.7 EU Consumer Waiver (Right of Withdrawal)

If you are a consumer in the EU, by purchasing Usage Credits or a paid plan, you hereby expressly consent to the immediate performance of the digital service and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has begun (i.e., once the Usage Credits are added to your Organization's account).

7.8 Refunds

Payments are non-refundable, except where required by law or stated in these Terms. No refunds will be issued for accounts terminated due to a violation of these Terms.

8. Beta and Experimental Features

From time to time, we may release features identified as "Beta," "Preview," "Experimental," or "Early Access." These features may be incomplete, unstable, or subject to change without notice. They are provided "AS IS," and we are under no obligation to maintain or support them indefinitely.

9. Closing Your Account

You can stop using Pipelex Cloud at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@pipelex.com. Unused Usage Credits are forfeited when your account is closed, except where the law requires a refund.

If we discontinue Pipelex Cloud, or close your account for a reason other than a breach of these Terms, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so that you can retrieve your Customer Content.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pipelex from and against any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of:

  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable laws.
  • Your violation of the usage policies of any Model Provider (e.g., using the Service to generate prohibited content).
  • The Customer Content you create.
  • The services you provide to your own clients using Pipelex Cloud.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service, including AI Output, is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Evotis S.A.S. disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Indirect Damages: Evotis S.A.S. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of data, revenue, or profits).
  • Cap: Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms, and the date at the top shows the current version. If you keep using Pipelex Cloud after an update, you accept the new Terms; if you do not agree, you must stop using it, and you may close your account.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute regarding the validity, interpretation, or execution of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before its courts.
